For those possibly unaccustomed to working with a professional designer, the process is outlined below:
INITIAL CONSULATION
The process begins with a conversation! Simply get in touch with us, describe the project and your aims and we can go from there. We can then arrange a free site visit to better understand your property and discuss some initial concepts.
BRIEF
Once we have been able to visit the site, then together we can establish your brief. This sets down what you are hoping to achieve with the project and can give specifics such as required square meterage and personal tastes/requirements to consider etc
CONCEPT DESIGN
Once the brief has been established, this is used as the foundation upon which the design is built. The design concept by its very nature is loose and can allow both parties to better hone the design so it can meet your needs
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
The concept then becomes "tightened up" through drawing up the proposal through computer aided design into a more formal proposal
PLANNING
Depending upon the project, a planning application may need to be prepared to comply with the council's requirements. This can be an onerous process if works are proposed to a listed building or if the property is located within a protected area such as a conservation area. If required, we can draw upon the expertise of planning consultants if there is a challenging site to ensure the application has the best chances of being granted
ADDITIONAL DESIGN SERVICES
Should you wish for additional design input, we can also provide interior design services to give your project that extra special touch if required!
